Creating Careersanity.com
Since I have been working with computers, networks, and the Internet for many years now, it seemed reasonable that I would create my own website. This will chronicle some of my adventures along the way to accomplishing this.
"Creating my own site," of course, is shorthand for "putting a lot of pieces together, each of which in turn were created by others." It's not just a figure of speech when authors say things like "No one writes a book all by him- or herself." Appreciation for division of labor and specialization, along with some ideas about how to make it work as well as possible, are core principles at careersanity.com. I am grateful to countless talented individuals who have made it possible for me to "create" this website.
Here are some of the components I have utilized, so far, to put this site together:
- Web host: Lexiconn Web Hosting
- Site framework or CMS (Content Management System): Drupal
- Theme or visual component: Newsflash
- Clip art, graphics: Fotolia
This page will be a "work in progress" -- time permitting, I will update it with additional details regarding these and other aspects of the site's creation. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
