Attitudes
When you're pulled over by the cops, this can determine whether you get a polite warning -- or wind up in cuffs down at the station.
In virtually any interaction with another person it can vastly increase -- or decrease -- your chances of getting what you want. Or not getting what you don't, such as the handcuffs.
You can fake it, of course. Nothing new or exciting about that, happens all the time. But it's a lot simpler, more effective, and more fun if it comes from a genuine desire to have the interaction work for both parties.
Definitely worth striving for in yourself and watching for in others: a decent attitude.

Your Needs vs. Somebody Else’s
You can also have some fun with this. When you’re out and about, maybe at a coffee shop or getting your car fixed or at the dentist, anywhere where you’re the customer and someone else is doing some kind of work for you, think of this question. Try to guess how the waiter or mechanic or dentist or whoever it is would answer it. read more »
